Gentlemen of the Press, We have been forced to invite you for yet another press conference to update you on the recent happenings in the State chapter of our great party the APC. You may recall that on Monday 9th May, 2022 we had addressed you over the happenings in the party as preparations were going on to select a standard flag bearer as APC candidate in the state and in the release we raised fundamental issues that are capable of derailing the fortune of APC to the state if not addressed. The issues raised bordered on lack of sincerity, hijack of the selection process of candidate by the Governor and his family members, No level playing ground for all aspirants etc. These warnings manifested when party officials, Local Government Chairmen  and  commissioners  were  directed  to  work  and  return  Dr. Nentawe Yilwada or risk losing their positions. PDP PRIMARY: Drama as Namadi Sambo’s son asks delegates to return his money

Pdp1 After securing just two votes at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries in Kaduna North Federal Constituency of the House of Representatives, Adam Namadi, son of former Vice-President Namadi Sambo, has reportedly asked delegates to refund the N2 million each he doled out before the election. Namadi, who had promised to add N1.5 million to the amount given to each of the delegates, secured the least votes among the three contenders. The delegates raked in millions of naira from the aspirants who appeared in a hurry to outspend one another. At the end, Samaila Suleiman, the incumbent representative of the constituency carried the day as he defeated Namadi and Shehu Usman ABG. Suleiman, who recently decamped from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP, won with 22 votes against Shehu Usman ABG who polled 14 votes. Late Abacha’s CSO, Al-Mustapha joins 2023 presidential race

Late Gen. Sani Abacha's Chief Security Officer (CSO), Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (Rtd) has joined the 2023 presidential race. Al-Mustapha declared his interest to run on the platform of the Action Alliance. While picking his nomination form, at the AA secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, the retired Major promised to end insecurity bedeviling the Northeast and Northwest geopolitical zones of Nigeria. According to him, his administration would provide sustainable development in order to assist in boasting the country’s economy. The AA national chairman, Chief Kenneth Udeze, challenged the party members and officers on the need to work towards the victory of the party’s candidates across the nation. Udeze commended Mustapha for stimulating his beliefs of a better Nigeria.

PLATEAU: GOVERNOR LALONG APPROVES CREATION OF CHIEFDOMS/DISTRICTS (Full list)

Gov. Simon Bako Lalong Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has approved the creation of 268 Districts and Village Areas as well as 2 Chiefdoms. He also restored 3 others (2nd Class) as well as approved the grading of 5 others on 3rd Class Status. The details released by the Secretary to the Government of the State Prof. Danladi Atu indicate that the newly created Chiefdoms are Lamba Chiefdom in Wase Local Government (3rd class) and Menkaat Chiefdom in Shendam Local Government (3rd class). Those restored are: Da-Gwom Rwei, Barkin Ladi LGA (2nd class); Da-Gwom Rwei (Gyel) Jos South LGA (2nd class); and Da-Gwom Rwei (Riyom) Riyom LGA (2nd class). Those that have been graded are: Gwom Rwei Kabong, Jos North LGA (3rd class); Gwom Rwei Zawan, Jos South LGA (3rd class); Ponzhi Bwarat, Langtang North LGA (3rd class); Ponzhi Gani (Sa) 3rd class; and Ponzhi Tumwat, Langtang North LGA (3rd  class). This is exactly what happened to Abdullar Alhaji Umaru on the 14th day of July 1999. Here is the gist of what happened in that case as decided by the Supreme Court in SHALLA v. Thursday, May 12th, 2022 • As CBT centres demand support from government, describe examination as successful The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given reasons it is yet to release results of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, said the examination body is yet to release results due to internal appraisal. He said the body would not release results until it receives reports of examination malpractices, adding that only 60 per cent of results came in after the examinations. Oloyede said, “We have no reason not to release the results but we are also doing some internal appraisal. Alleged Blasphemy: Police Arrest Suspects over Killing of Female Christian Student in Sokoto - Gabitainment News

At about 0900hrs, a distress call was received from Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, stating that students were rioting over one female student named Deborah Samuel, a level two student, who was accused of making a social media post that blasphemed the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW). students forcefully removed the victim from the security room where she was hidden by the school authorities, killed her and burnt the building. The students banded together with miscreants and barricaded the Sokoto/Jega road. Upon receiving the information, the DC Operations led a team of policemen and all other operational commanders in the state to the school where the road was cleared and the situation was brought under control. Two students were arrested in connection with the crime committed. The school has been closed down by the school authority, and policemen were deployed to give tight security coverage. 18 Plateau gov aspirants threaten to dump APC, allege imposition

A total of 18 governorship aspirants in Plateau State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress on Monday accused Governor Simon Lalong of trying to impose his preferred candidate on the party to fly the APC ticket for the 2023 governorship of the state. The aspirants, under the auspices of Plateau APC Governorship Aspirants Forum, who addressed a press conference in Jos on Monday, threatened to dump the APC should the state governor have his way. ASUU STRIKE The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan said on Tuesday, 10th May 2022 that the Senate will intervene in the lingering dispute between the Federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) by bringing back the two parties to the negotiation table. Lawan made the promise to the officials of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who were led to his office by a concerned Methodist Bishop, Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha. Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the 2022 financial disbursement proposals for public tertiary institutions.

Executive Secretary of TETFund, Sonny Echono, made this known while receiving in his office, representatives of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU) in Abuja. Echono said a meeting has been scheduled for next week with the representatives of the benefiting institutions to discuss further on the proposed reforms that have been approved for implementation ahead of the financial disbursement.
