APPRECIATION MESSAGE TO TETFUND BY THE SUG PRESIDENT, COMR. KAZE PETER ARIN AT THE COMMISSION CEREMONY OF THE SENATE BUILDING AND THE NEW FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCE, PLATEAU STATE UNIVERSITY BOKKOS.

APPRECIATION MESSAGE TO TETFUND BY THE SUG PRESIDENT, COMR. KAZE PETER ARIN AT THE COMMISSION CEREMONY OF THE SENATE BUILDING AND THE NEW FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCE, PLATEAU STATE UNIVERSITY BOKKOS.

The Education Secretary TETFUND, Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong, the Vice Chancellor Plateau State University Bokkos Prof. Yohanna Daniel Izam, gentlemen of the press, distinguish guest of honor, I welcome us all to this great occasion in the history of Plateau State University.

Please permit me to say that this event would have not been complete without the students expressing our long nurtured over whelming joy and happiness in us because we are the beneficiaries of all these gigantic structures and all the effort put forth by TETFUND are to the best interest and it is only a man born blind that can tell how it feels to see when he finally gain sight.

It is no longer news that as a result of this interventions by TETFUND, Plateau State University Bokkos is now rated as one of the best and most fastest growing university in the country.

To us the students, as far as education is concern in Nigeria, after God it's Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro the hope of Nigerian Institutions and students. Sir, you are a professor to the core, a professor that knows the values of education and also understand how society will look like without the educational sector. Words alone are not enough for us the students of Plateau State University Bokkos to express our gratitude but in our own little way, it's always said that "a good name is better than wealth", Sir, the Student Union Government has a plot of land and if wishes were horses we will love to have a good Secretariat with your good name written all over the four corners of the walls as a sign of respect for the next generation to know that there is only one man with the heart of million people that has been fighting and interceding to ensure that education Excel nationwide.

To the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong, Sir, with a grateful heart, we are here to say thank you. History has it that some years back this university was closed but because of the concern you have for Plateau State and its citizens, you came and reopened the institution immediately you assumed office in 2015. We also want to make the judicious use of this opportunity to appreciate the governor for his prompt response following the declaration of the internal strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) PLASU chapter. Sir, it is a pity and quite unfortunate that the student who are the beneficiary of all this infrastructures are still at home as a result of the strike.

Please Sir, as a father we plead that you understand our plight as students and the implications of the persistence of this strike on our future and on the entire state. During the strike, we have lost some students through death, some of us who have paid accomodation off the school campus have lost many properties and our rent will soon expire without us enjoying the money we paid, some of these students are forcefully put in a family way at a very tender age while some are exposed to all sort of criminal activities just as it is always said " an idle man is the devil's workshop". Sir, using your good office and your good position, intervene for us to resume because Plateau State University happens to be the highest tertiary institution owned by the state and 90% of the students are indigenes.

Sir, I have observed with kin interest and got to realize that the first name the good people of Plateau State gave you was Governor Alert because of how promptly you have been responding and attending to their needs. When we heard of your coming, with faith and high hope we know it is an answered prayer that the god of alert has finally visited the Student Union Government (SUG). Sir, as a child will always run to his father for refuge, we wish our union can have an official car donated by the governor himself because we know you do not joke with issues that concerns the students or donated by the government to enable the union carry out official functions which in turn shall also promote the name, image and integrity of the union, institution and state both within and outside the state and we pray that may the good Lord continue to uplift and enrich you greatly in Jesus name (Amen).

Lastly, our sincere and heartfelt gratitude as the students of this prestigious goes to the Vice Chancellor of this institution, in person of Prof. Yohanna Daniel Izam as the people called him but we at the student level call him daddy because he is not just a Vice Chancellor to u s but a father, role model, mentor and we also call him the Bulldozer, the workaholic Vice Chancellor, the people’s Professor e cetra e cetra.

Sir, I must confess that your ways and good deeds are worthy of emulation to every leader out there either appointed or elected as it is rightly said that “emulation is better than envy”. Without any of favor or intimidation I stand to affirm that Plateau State and the entire nation will be safe in the hands of people like Prof. Yohanna Daniel Izam. Sir, you have done it and our eyes have seen, our ears have heard and our mouth will forever testify of your good deeds.

Good bless Nigeria.
God bless Plateau State.
God bless Plateau State University Bokkos.
Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta.

Signed:
COMR. KAZE PETER ARIN
